WritePulp Cookie Policy
Last updated: 11/02/2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how WritePulp ("we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or use our web application (collectively, the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, our GDPR Compliance Privacy Policy.
Important: At this time, WritePulp does not use third-party advertising cookies or web analytics tracking cookies (such as Google Analytics) on the website. We use browser local storage and session storage only where needed to run the Service-for example, to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
2. Cookies vs. Local Storage
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage and session storage are browser mechanisms that store data on your device in a similar way but are not always classified as "cookies" under every law.
For transparency, this policy describes both HTTP cookies (if we use them) and comparable technologies such as local storage and session storage that store information in your browser.
3. Strictly Necessary Storage
These items are required (or strongly necessary) to provide the Service. They do not require your consent under many privacy laws, but we list them so you know what is stored on your device.
- Authentication (
wp_tokens,wp_user) - keeps you logged in securely between visits. - Language preference (
i18nextLng) - remembers your selected interface language. - Theme (
wp_app_theme) - remembers light or dark mode. - Reader settings (
wp_reader_settings) - stores reading display preferences. - Reading rewards counters - stores daily coin-earning limits tied to your account on this device.
- Remember me (optional login convenience) - stores your identifier if you choose "Remember me" on the sign-in screen.
- Cookie consent choice (
wp_cookie_consent) - records whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies so we do not ask you again on every visit. - Session navigation (session storage) - short-lived data such as how you arrived at a reader page, cleared when the browser tab closes.
If you block or clear this storage, some features (especially staying signed in) may not work correctly.
4. Optional Cookies (Not Used Today)
Optional cookies include analytics, performance measurement, and personalized advertising. We do not currently set optional tracking or advertising cookies on the WritePulp website.
If we introduce optional cookies in the future (for example, analytics to improve the product), we will update this policy and ask for your consent through our cookie banner before enabling them. You will be able to accept or reject those optional cookies without losing access to core features that rely only on strictly necessary storage.
5. Your Choices (Cookie Banner)
When you first use our website, you may see a cookie notice at the bottom of the screen with options similar to:
- Accept - you agree to our use of strictly necessary storage and any optional cookies we may enable in the future after this policy is updated.
- Reject - you decline optional cookies. We will not enable optional tracking or advertising cookies. Strictly necessary storage (such as login and preferences) will still be used so the Service can function; rejecting optional cookies does not delete your account or block essential features.
Your choice is stored in wp_cookie_consent on your device. You can change your mind by clearing site data in your browser or contacting us (see Section 9).
6. Mobile Application
The WritePulp mobile app does not use browser cookies in the same way as the website. App-related data may be stored on your device or on our servers according to our Privacy Policy. Permissions (camera, notifications, etc.) are managed through your device settings, not through this cookie banner.
7. How to Manage or Delete Stored Data
You can manage storage as follows:
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and site data for writepulp.com.
- Sign out of WritePulp to remove authentication tokens from your browser (you may still need to clear site data for a full reset).
- Use private/incognito mode if you do not want data to persist after you close the browser.
Clearing strictly necessary storage will log you out and reset local preferences on that device.
8. Third-Party Links
Our Service may link to external sites (for example, Google or Twilio privacy pages referenced in our Privacy Policy). Those sites have their own cookie practices. We do not control third-party cookies set when you leave WritePulp.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If we begin using optional cookies, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent again.
