WritePulp Advertising Policy

1. Overview

WritePulp is a platform for reading and writing stories. To keep the core experience free for everyone, we plan to introduce non-intrusive advertising in a future release. This page explains how advertising will work, what data may be used, and what controls you will have.

No advertising system is currently active. When ads are introduced, this page will be updated and you will be notified through the app.

2. Ad Types

WritePulp intends to support the following ad formats:

• Banner Ads - Static or animated banners placed between content sections. Banners will never appear inside a chapter while you are reading.
• Sponsored Content - Clearly labelled promotions from publishers or brands whose interests align with your reading preferences.
• Native Recommendations - Book or author recommendations that blend into discovery feeds. These will always be marked as "Sponsored" so you can distinguish them from organic suggestions.

3. Ad Personalization

When the advertising system launches, you will be able to choose whether ads are personalised. If you opt in, ads may be tailored using:

• The genres and categories you read
• Your language preferences
• General location (country / region level only)

Personalized ads help support authors on the platform and keep WritePulp free. You will be able to opt out at any time from Settings › Privacy.

We will never sell your personal data to advertisers. Any data used for ad personalization will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, our GDPR Policy.

4. Your Controls

• Opt out of personalization - Go to Settings › Privacy and disable "Ad Personalization". You will still see ads, but they will not be tailored to your profile.
• Report an ad - Use the "Why this ad?" link on any ad to report content that is irrelevant, misleading, or inappropriate.
• Ad-free experience - Subscribers on a paid plan will enjoy an ad-free experience across the entire platform.

5. Revenue Sharing with Authors

A portion of ad revenue will be distributed to authors based on the readership their works attract. This means every story you read directly supports the writer behind it, helping WritePulp remain a sustainable home for creative writing.

6. Advertise on WritePulp

If you are interested in reaching WritePulp's engaged reading audience, advertising partnerships will be available once the ad platform is live. Details will be published on this page and announced through official channels when the system launches.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will update this page before the advertising system goes live. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notification. Continued use of WritePulp after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. You can always review the current version at writepulp.com/legal/ads.
